Homoneura (Neohomoneura) nigrimarginata View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs. 30 View FIGURES 19 – 33 , 60–64 View FIGURES 60 – 64 )

Diagnosis. Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical setae distinct). Wing: apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities nearly at same vertical level of dm-cu (sometimes apical spot on R4+5 with basal extremity slightly beyond spot on R2+3); a triangular hyaline marginal area present between brown apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5. Abdomen yellow, tergites 2–5 each with narrow black posterior margin.

Description. MALE. Body length 5.2–6.0 mm, wing length 5.8–6.0 mm. FEMALE. Body length 5.9 mm, wing length 6.0 mm.

Head yellow. Frons brownish yellow as long as wide and parallel–sided; ocellar triangle brownish yellow; oc developed, longer than anterior or. Gena about 1/5 height of eye. Antenna yellow, and 1st flagellomere pale brown at tip, about 1.6 times as long as high; arista black plumose except pale yellow base, with longest setula longer than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish and blackish setulae; palpus yellow, with blackish setulae.

Thorax yellow. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc, acr in 10 rows and prsc longer than anteriormost dc. 1 anepst, 2 kepst. Scutellum yellow. Legs yellow, except tarsomeres 3–5 brown. Fore femur with 5 strong pv and 10 pd, and ctenidium with 15–16 short setae; fore tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5–6 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad, 6–7 short p and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical setae distinct) and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 19 – 33 ) slightly yellow, brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 confluent and extending to tip of vein; apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities nearly at same vertical level of dm-cu (sometimes apical spot on R4+5 with basal extremity slightly beyond vertical level of spot on R2+3), a triangular hyaline marginal area present between brown apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5; brown apical spot on M1 longer than 1/2 ultimate sections of M1, a brown spot constricted at middle on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 3.2 mm: 0.8 mm: 0.6 mm; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.7 mm: 3.0 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter yellow.

Abdomen yellow, tergites 2–5 each with narrow black posterior margin. Male genitalia ( Figs. 60–64 View FIGURES 60 – 64 ): protandrium circular with a wide rectangular ventral segment and two setulae around spiracle; epandrium broad subapically, with five pairs of dorsal setae; surstylus consisting of a small curved process, with tiny setulae and teeth; hypandrium nearly H–shaped; gonopod columnar with a tiny setulae; aedeagus consisting of a pair of tiny teeth, a pair of triangular basal processes and a small distal incision in ventral view, and aedeagal lateral sclerite shorter than central membranous part, with S–shaped apical margin in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme longer than aedeagus.

Type material. Holotype 3 ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665990), CHINA, Yunnan Province: Jinghong, Xiaomengyang (1000 m), 6. V. 1957, Shuyong Wang. Paratypes: CHINA, Yunnan Province: 1 3 ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665982), Jinghong, Xiaomengyang (810 m), 2. IV. 1957, Guangji Hong; 1 Ƥ ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665974), Simao, Jiaoqu (1300 m), 12. IV. 1955, Крdzҗаповский; 1 3 ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665985), Simao (1300 m), 12. IV. 1955, Бущик.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Homoneura (Neohomoneura) digitata Shi & Yang from China (Hainan) in the following characters: wing with a brown apical spot on R2+3 with basal extremity at same vertical level of dm-cu, a brown spot constricted at middle on dm-cu, and a triangular hyaline marginal area present between brown apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5; abdominal tergites 2–5 each with a narrow black posterior margin; protandrium circular. But it can be separated from the latter by the antennal 1st flagellomere being pale brown at the tip, the abdominal tergites lacking dark triangular median spot, the surstylus consisting of a small curved process with the tiny setulae and teeth in lateral view; the hypandrium being nearly H–shaped; the gonopod being columnar with a tiny setula in the ventral view. In H. (N.) digitata , the antennal 1st flagellomere is yellow or brownish yellow; the abdominal male tergites 4–6 (female 4–7) have a dark triangular median spot; the surstylus is short and broad with a short digitiform apical process in the lateral view; the hypandrium is Y–shaped, the gonopod is long and subulate in the ventral view ( Shi & Yang, 2008).

Etymology. Latin, prefix nigri-, meaning black + marginata, meaing marginal; referring to the abdominal tergites 2–5 each with a narrow black posterior margin; a feminine adjective.
