Material examined. COLOMBIA: Chocó • 1 worker; Lloró; 05°29′00″N, 076°32′00″W; alt. 115 m; 15 Mar. 2002; Y. Palacios, O. Mena leg.; UNAB 4739 GoogleMaps .

Identification. Frontal lobes in frontal view subquad- rate, with lateroventral margin curved posteriorly; ante- rior clypeal margin with a median angle; gaster in lateral view subspherical, with inconspicuous lateral carina; and body lacking erect hairs ( Lattke 1997).

Distribution. Previous Colombian records are from the departments of Cauca, Valle del Cauca, and Magda- lena. This new record from Chocó indicates the species might be widely distributed across the Pacific and north- ern coasts of the country ( Fig. 1A View Figure 1 ). Apterostigma collare is known from several countries in Central America: Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico (Veracruz), Nicaragua, and Panama. In South America it has been found only in Colombia and Venezuela ( Lattke 1997).
