Distribution in the US and Canada. AB, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MB, ME, MI, MN, MT, NB, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, ON, PA, QC, RI, SK, TN, VA, VT, WI ( Chandler 2001; Downie and Arnett 1996; Seibert 1993).
Remarks. While reviewing University of New Hampshire Insect Collection (UNHC) holdings, we encountered an unpublished specimen record of this species from Maine which pre-dates the record listed above: Kennebec County, Augusta, 13.vii.1947, A. E. Brower, coll., on dying elm, Elater sellatus .
