T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♀. Type locality: Brazil, (Rio Grande do Sul), S FCO de Paula, Pró-Mata, Araucaria angust., 3-XII-1997, Leg. Roland Mecke ( WFBM).
D i a g n o s i s: Elytra mostly black, roughly sculptured, each elytron with three punctiform markings; legs testaceous.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 6.0 mm; width 1.5 mm. Form: As in Fig. 37 View Figs 37-40 . Head: (EW/FW 20/60). Thorax: Pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW 95/95); (EL/EW 240/70). Abdomen: Female pygidium scutiform.
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, mata, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
