Remarks: This species is easy to differentiate from all other Heteragrion  species in Colombia by its completely black head ( Fig. 5EView FIGURE 5), red abdomen in males, female intersternite with a rounded dorsal plate ( Fig. 14CView FIGURE 14), and genital valves not reaching distal border of S10 ( Fig. 14AView FIGURE 14). We report it here for the first time from Boyacá and Valle del Cauca Departments.
