Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus bolivarensis is characterized by the combination of medium body size (2.0–3.0 mm), antennomeres 3 to 11 subequal in width, and pronotal lateral lobes triangular.

Descriptions. Male. Body length 2.8 mm. Body flattened dorsally, brownish with yellow pilosity. Head pearshaped (length 0.7 mm, width 0.5 mm), base of the antennal tubercle as long as diameter of eye. Head longitudinal sulcus wider between eyes, spindle-shaped. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.15 mm). Antennal length 1.68 mm, antennomere length as follows: 1(0.12 mm), 2 (0.06 mm), 3 (0.06 mm), 4 and 5 (0.1 mm), 6 (0.08 mm), 7 (0.16 mm), 8 (0.12 mm), 9 (0.16 mm) and 10 (0.16 mm) and 11 (0.28 mm), 7 to 11 forming inconspicuous clava. Maxillary palpi yellowish with short, clear and even pilosity. Pronotum elongate (length 0.55, width 0.5 mm). Lateral lobes triangular, with basal angle acute. Antebasal lobe rectangular. Pronotal disc rectangular. Elytra length 0.8 mm, width 0.9 mm. Humeral teeth absent, humeral elevation present. Sutural fovea present, transverse, sutural stria linear. Basal discal foveae rounded, discal depression present. Abdominal segments I–V, dorsally with length as follow: 0.4, 0.2, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 mm. Genitalia. Phallobase regular, globose and symmetrical, bearing two small arms. Median lobe long and narrow, divided apically, articulating to phallobase through a circular, ventral opening in lateral view ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 C).

Type material. Holotype (male): “ Venezuela, Bolivar, 20 km S Luepa, Gn. Sabana. 29-VI to 10-VII-87. 1500 m. Forest remnant. Flight intercept trap. S. & J. Peck” ( MHNG).

Etymology. Named after the State of Bolivar in Venezuela where the holotype was collected.
