Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus montsineryensis is characterized by the combination of small body size (less than 2.0 mm), the basal angle of the lateral lobes of the pronotum acute, as a spine.

Description. Male. Body length 1.8 mm. Body flattened dorsally, reddish with yellow pilosity. Head triangular (length 0.4 mm, width 0.35 mm), base of the antennal tubercle shorter than diameter of eye. Head longitudinal sulcus wider between eyes, spindle-shaped. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.15 mm). Antennal length 0.8 mm. Antennomere length as follows: 1 (0.12 mm), 2 and 3 (0.04 mm), 4 and 5 (0.03 mm), 6 (0.02 mm), 7 (0.08 mm), 8 and 9 (0.06 mm), 10 (0.07 mm), and 11 (0.18 mm), clava conspicuous. Maxillary palpi yellowish with short, clear and even pilosity. Pronotum quadrate (length and width 0.35 mm). Lateral lobes triangular, with basal angle acute, as spine. Antebasal lobe rectangular with small triangular projections laterally. Pronotal disc oval. Elytra length 0.55 mm, width 0.6 mm. Humeral teeth and humeral elevation present. Sutural fovea present and rounded, sutural stria linear. Basal discal fovea rounded. Abdominal segments I–V dorsally with length as follows: 0.30, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 (mm). Genitalia. Phallobase regular, globular and symmetrical, bearing two small arms. Median lobe divided into two arms: left arm laminate; right arm cylindrical, medially located. Type material. Holotype (male): “ French Guiana, Montsinery IV-81. Secondary Forest. G. Tavakilian” ( MHNG). Paratypes (2): French Guiana, 1 male, Cayenne, Gallion. 20-XII-77. N. Degallier ( MHNG); 1 male, Cayenne, Cabassou. III-79. N. Degallier ( MHNG).

Etymology. Named after the commune Montsinery in French Guiana, where the holotype was collected.
