Range: — Colombia to Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology: —Fairly common; pendent epiphyte, less commonly saxicolous, in humid forests; 1500–3800 m.
Notes: —Usually subsumed in Alansmia lanigera (Desv.) Moguel (= Terpsichore lanigera (Desv.) A.R.Sm. ),
from Colombia to Peru, which has hydathodes with lime dots and lacks the deep red stellate rachis hairs of Alansmia stella .
