Range: —Southern Peru to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Uncommon, to locally common; pendent epiphyte on moss-covered branches in humid forests; (1800) 3500–4000 m.
Notes: — In contrast to specimens from Peru, the type country, Bolivian collections sometimes lack stellate, atropurpureous hairs on rachises and costae, and have paler, sparser blade indument; more than one species may be involved. This species shows variation in blade dissection, with the most extreme forms being 2-pinnate-pinnatifid: Loza et al. 692 ( UC), from Apolobamba .
