= Polypodium allosuroides Rosenst., Meded. Rijks-Herb. View in CoL 19: 16. 1913.
Range: —Endemic to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Rare, known from five Bolivian collections; forming dense mats in crevices of cliff faces, in punas; (2600) 3600–4500 m.
Notes: —This species is characterized by its small stature, with fronds to 14 cm long, and coriaceous segments with revolute margins. It is most closely related to M. gracilis from the northern and central Andes, both species agreeing in lacking setiform hairs and having thick-textured fronds. Melpomene gracilis differs chiefly in having the segment margins more deeply lobed and not revolute.
