Range: — Costa Rica; Colombia to Guyana and Bolivia (CO, LP); northern Brazil. Formerly recognized var. antillensis Proctor , endemic to the Lesser Antilles, is now considered a distinct species, Lellingeria antillensis (Proctor) A.R.Sm. & R.C.Moran ( Labiak 2013) View in CoL .
Ecology: —Uncommon, known from six Bolivian collections; pendent epiphyte in humid forests; 2300–3100 m.
Notes: —Differs from L. pseudocapillaris and L. suspensa by its broader, more strongly crenate pinnae and sparse, very short rachis hairs 0.05–0.1 mm long. It can also be confused with Alansmia senilis , but that has more entire segments, and paired and clustered setae on the blades.
