Range:— Colombia; northern Peru to Bolivia (BE, LP); expected in Ecuador.

Ecology:— Uncommon; usually epiphytic, less commonly terrestrial or on cliffs, in humid forests; 650–1100 m.

Notes: —Distinguished from N. crassifolium and N. albopunctatissimum by Lellinger (1973) primarily by the involute rhizome scales, a difference questioned by Tryon & Stolze (1993).
