Range: —Central Peru, Bolivia (SC).
Ecology: —Rare, known from few Bolivian collections: Brooke 5748 (BM); Steinbach 7915 (K); Cárdenas 1397 (K); Wood 19831 (K); Paniagua 5646 (MO, USZ); epiphytic in semihumid forests; 350– 900 m.
Notes: —Most easily confused with M. lycopodioides when sterile, but M. ulei can be readily distinguished when fertile by its strongly dimorphic fronds (vs. monomorphic to weakly dimorphic). It is also close to M. vacciniifolia , from which it can be separated by the characters presented in the key.
