Microgramma percussa (Cav.) de la Sota, Physis C View in CoL 44: 19. 1986.
= Pleopeltis percussa (Cav.) Hook. & Grev., Icon. Fil. 1: t. 67. 1828.
= Polypodium percussum Cav., Descr. Pl. (Cavanilles) 243–244. 1802.
Range: — Mexico to Panama; Colombia to Venezuela and Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, PA, SC), Brazil.
Ecology: —Very common; epiphytic, rarely terrestrial or saxicolous, on forest edges, tree trunks, fallen trunks, and high branches, in humid forests; 100–2250 m.
Notes: —This species has variously been placed in Microgramma ( de la Sota 1986) and Pleopeltis ( Tryon & Stolze 1993) , but molecular data ( Salino et al. 2008, Almeida et al., in prep.) and the lack of peltate scales in the sori support the inclusion of this species in Microgramma . The species is perhaps the most commonly collected fern in Bolivia.
