Campyloneurum nitidum (Kaulf.) C.Presl, Tent. Pterid. View in CoL 190. 1836.
= Polypodium nitidum Kaulf., Enum. Filic. 92. 1824.
Range: —Southern Bolivia (CO, LP) to northern Argentina and southern Brazil.
Ecology: —Rare, terrestrial in open areas, to 550 m.
Notes: —This species belongs to the C. phyllitidis group, represented in Bolivia by C. abruptum , C. nitidissimum , C. pascoense , and C. phyllitidis . Campyloneurum nitidum differs from other species in the group by its ovate, obtuse apex rhizome scales. Here, it is considered in a broad sense, with Bolivian specimens having lanceolate leaves and primary veins divergent by more than 60°. A more detailed study of southern South American plants is needed.
