= Polypodium lorentzii Hieron., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. View in CoL 22(3): 406. 1896.
Range: —Andes from Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC, TA) to northern Argentina.
Ecology: —Mostly saxicolous, occasionally a low epiphyte; 1950–3500 m.
Notes: —This species belongs to the C. amphostenon complex; it can be distinguished from others in the group by the long-petiolate leaves and ovate rhizome scales having obtuse apices. This species resembles C. densifolium , both having slightly clathrate rhizome scales more than 2 mm wide, but the former has broadly lanceolate scales with acute apex, and elongate cells medially, from the middle of the scales to the scale apices.
