Serpocaulon richardii (Klotzsch) A.R.Sm. View in CoL , Taxon 55(4): 929. 2006.
= Polypodium richardii Klotzsch, Linnaea View in CoL 20: 394. 1847.
Range: —The Guianas, Venezuela to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, PA, SC); central and southeastern Brazil.
Ecology: —Fairly common; epiphytic in humid forests; 200–1400 m.
Notes: —Differs from S. fraxinifolium by acuminate rhizome scales and from S. triseriale by pubescent leaves, long-creeping rhizomes, and somewhat adnate proximal pinnae. Most Bolivian specimens have previously been identified as S. adnatum (Klotzsch) A.R.Sm. , but that species has 1- or 2-celled glandular hairs on the costae and appears to occur only from western Venezuela to Ecuador.
