Range: — Peru and Bolivia (CO, LP); eastern Brazil to Paraguay and northeastern Argentina.
Ecology: —Rare, known from five Bolivian collections; epiphytic, saxicolous, and sometimes terrestrial, often on fallen logs, in humid forests; 1000–1700 m.
Notes: —Probably a tetraploid, with larger spores than P. pilosa and P. ptilodon (ca. 52 μm long).
