Diagnosis. Rostrum nearly as long as body. Mesonotum dark yellow with a broad median dark brown stripe. Pleuron yellow with anepisternum and katepisternum brown. Wing with dark brown spot on stigma, broad brown bands along cord, m-m and basal section of M3; basal section of CuA1 at2/5 of cell dm, cell a2 relatively broad. Abdominal segments more or less bicolored.

Description. Female. Body length 7.5–8.0 mm, wing length 9.0–10.0 mm, rostrum length 7.0– 7.5 mm.

Head (fig. 35). Pale brownish yellow. Hairs on head brownish yellow. Antenna length 1.6 mm, brownish yellow. Flagellomeres except first flagellomere nearly equal in length; first flagellomere elongate and enlarged, nearly 1.5 times as long as second flagellomere. Rostrum brownish black with brownish black hairs.

Thorax. Generally dark yellow. Pronotum dark yellow. Mesonotum dark yellow with a broad median dark brown stripe. Scutum dark brown with middle area paler. Scutellum dark brownish yellow. Mediotergite brownish yellow with posterior area brownish black. Pleuron (fig. 34) yellow with anepisternum and katepisternum brown. Hairs on thorax brown. Coxae yellow, middle coxa darker; trochanters yellow; fore and middle femora brownish black with bases brownish yellow, hind femur brownish yellow with tip brownish black; tibiae dark brown; tarsi brownish yellow. Hairs on legs brownish black. Wing (fig. 36) brownish yellow, dark brown spot on stigma, broad brown bands along cord, m-m and basal section of M3; veins dark brown. Venation: Sc1 ending just before fork of Rs, Sc2 near its tip; basal section of CuA1 beyond fork of M and at 2/5 of cell dm; cell a2 relatively broad. Haltere length 1.6 mm, brownish yellow with extreme base of stem paler.

Abdomen (fig. 34). Tergites brownish yellow with median regions darker. Sternites yellow. Posterior margin of each segment narrowly dark brown. Hairs on abdomen brown.

Hypopygium (fig. 37). Tenth tergite yellow. Cercus yellow with tip darker. Hypogynial valve yellow. Tip of hypogynial valve at 3/5 of cercus.

Male. Unknown.

Specimens examined. Holotype female ( USNM), China: Taiwan, Yūsho (1829 m), 1928. X.24, S. Issiki. Paratype female ( USNM), China: Taiwan, Shōrei (2134–2438 m), 1928. X.25, S. Issiki. Other material: 1 female ( USNM), China: Taiwan, Hassensan (1981–2377 m), 1929. X.24, S. Issiki.
