Taraxacum hamosius Doll (1978: 636) [“hamosium”], described as a member of T. sect. Alpestria

Note:—The original form, Taraxacum hamosium , was corrected in Kirschner et al. (2008: 766).

Type indication:—“Typus: Holotypus im h Doll / Locus typicus: Borovez, am Sessellift, ca. 1600 m. 11. 7. 76. Doll“; also Plate LXXIV: „ Taraxacum hamosium Doll sp. nov. – Holotypus ”.

Type :— Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Borovez, Sessellift., 11 Jul 1976, R. Doll [as Taraxacum hamosum sp. nov. Holotypus] ( JE, no. det. 19257, holotype; isotype: JE, no. det. 19258) .

Specimens of the OM:— There are three herbarium sheets as the OM in JE. The first one, an obvious holotype (photographed on Plate LXXIV), contains two slender plants, not very well preserved but relatively acceptably developed, flowers, outer phyllaries and achenes are available. Sheet II contains three fragmentary leaf rosettes; in all likelihood they are conspecific with the holotype. Sheet III, with rather fragmentary specimens (two leaves and loose early fruiting head, and an achene), is also conspecific with the holotype.

Conclusion:—The original material is homogeneous, of medium quality. The species under this name was recognized by us as relatively frequent in the Bulgarian mountains, including the Rila Mts., Stara Planina, Vitosha and Rhodopes.
