Remarks. The species is reported for the first time from South America. Western Amazonian material generally corresponds well with specimens collected from Costa Rica. Almost all males lack a pale band on the antenna, or if the pale band is present then it is usually very weak and inconspicuous. Males of this species may be distinguished by the combination of a black head with yellow face, distinct notaulus, and propodeum with the basal area more or less developed and the apical area broadly rounded anteriorly.
