Etymology. The specific name is a patronym in honor of the great Brazilian arachnologist Dra. Regiane Saturnino.
Diagnosis. Males of Myrmecotypus regianeae spec. nov. resemble M. jasmineae by the tibia I ventral spination 3-2 and coxae II and III translucent white and I and IV black ( Fig. 16C, F View FIGURE 16 ), but it differs by the presence of a pre-embolic ridge and a short embolus with a smooth wide tip ( Fig. 16G View FIGURE 16 ), whereas the embolus has a distinctly twisted tip in M. jasmineae (Leister & Miller 2012: fig. 1F, G). Females resemble those of M. fuliginosus and M. lineatipes by coxae II and III being translucent white and I and IV black, but it differs by the wrinkled epigyne, without a transverse ridge and very small CO ( Fig. 16I View FIGURE 16 ), whereas the epigyne of M. fuliginosus has a transverse ridge present ( Reiskind 1969: fig. 251) and that of M. lineatipes has large CO ( Reiskind 1969: fig. 249).
