Remarks. 1. We did not find the holotype of Lyclene tripunctata in ZFMK collection. However, its black and white photo is provided in the original description ( Reich 1935), and this taxon is obviously conspecific with C. detrita . 2. In the original descriptions of Cyana detrita and Barsine suffundens, Walker (1854 ; 1864 [1865]) did not mention a number of specimens, therefore the existence of syntypes is possible. In order to stabilize the nomenclature, we designate the specimens labeled as ‘types’ as lectotype.

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 11.5–13 mm in males and 16–17.5 mm in females. Cyana detrita is an easily recognizable species differing from other congeners by its grayish brown and diffuse forewing pattern. In the male genitalia, C. detrita differs clearly from other Indian species of Cyana by its bulging, dentate and heavily sclerotized distal part of aedeagus. Among Asian species, this feature is found only in C. guttifera and C. intercomma Černý, 2009 , but C. detrita differs from it by its narrower valva and the vesica having no elongated diverticula, spinules and cornuti, whereas in C. intercomma the vesica bears three clusters of robust spinules, and in C. guttifera there is a large and dentate cornutus. The female genitalia are characterized by their broad antrum and dorso-ventrally flattened and heavily sclerotized anterior section of corpus bursae.

Distribution. North and North-East India (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Nagaland) ( Hampson 1900; Reich 1935; Smetacek 2008; Singh et al. 2014), Nepal ( Kishida 1993; 1994; 1998); Bangladesh ( Walker 1854), China (Tibet) ( Fang 2000, as detriata, missp.). The record for South Hindostan ( Walker 1864) is doubtful and needs confirmation.
