C o m m e n t: The illustrations of the primary sexual characters provided by PACE (1983, 1989) are highly misleading. For photographs and a redescription of the primary and secondary sexual characters see ASSING (2004).

Leptusa sarensis was previously known only from the Šar planina (S-Serbia, NW-Macedonia). The above first record from Albania shows that the species is evidently widespread in the southern Balkans. It was collected together with L. apfelbeckiana both in Albania and in Macedonia.
