Material examined: 1 ñ, NMNS 8772-62, 9.2 × 5.2, Shanfu, Liuqiu Township, Pingtung County, 3 May 2007; 1 ñ, NMNS 8772-63, 9.2 × 5.2, Shanfu, Liuqiu Township, Pingtung County, 24 October 2008; 1 ñ, NMNS 8772-64, 5.8 × 3.8, Wanlitong, Pingtung County, 13 May 2009; 1 ñ, NMNS 8772-65, 6.3 × 4.2, Jihuei, Taitung County, 13 December, 2012.

Distribution: Indo-Pacific ( Serène 1984).

Remarks: Xanthias lamarckii (H. Milne Edwards, 1834) ( Fig. 20A View Fig ) has been frequently documented in Taiwanese waters ( Ng et al. 2017). This study reports a new collection location for this species along the eastern coast of Taiwan.
