Distribution in Iran. Fars (Linnavuori 2011).

General distribution. Endemic to Iran.

Comment. The species was first cited from Iran by Ferrari (1874) and Montandon (1913) as Ophthalmicus luridus without exact locality. Kiritshenko (1915) recognized it as a separate species and proposed the name Geocoris montandoniellus . A poorly known species, redescribed by Linnavuori (2011).
