Body beige to dark brown. Head somewhat narrower than pronotum. Vertex usually with large median apical spot; coronal suture present or indistinct. Pronotum almost entirely dark. Scutellum with obvious transverse impression, lateral triangles dark or pale.

Male abdominal apodemes small, not or slightly exceeding 3rd sternite.

Male pygofer lobe with articulated dorsal appendage, with or without ventral appendage, with one or more dorsal macrosetae, basolateral setae in distinct group, small or distinctly enlarged. Subgenital plate with 2 or more macrosetae in oblique row or 3 macrosetae forming triangle at some distance from base and numerous short stout setae on outer lateral margin. Style with apex variable in shape. Connective U- or Y-shaped, with or without central lobe. Aedeagal shaft tubular, usually with 1 or more processes; gonopore apical or subapical, usually on ventral or caudal surface. Anal tube process present or absent.

Notes: Although many of the mentioned structures are variable within the genus, Salka can be distinguished from other Erythroneurini by the following combination of characters: color pattern brown; vertex with dark median apical spot; pygofer not extended to apex of subgenital plate, with one or two dorsal macrosetae, basolateral setae in distinct group; pygofer dorsal appendage movably articulated.
