Gonatopus lunatus Klug, 1810: 164 . Type locality: Germany, Berlin (♀ lectotype, ZMHUB).

Description (♀). Apterous ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ), length 2.3–3.6 mm. Color. Head yellow-reddish, with or without brown band on vertex; antenna brown, except part of scape witish and pedicel yellow; pronotum black, except anterior surface and disc testaceous-reddish, occasionally with transverse furrow and part of disc brown; mesoscutum yellow, occasionally with anterior and posterior margins brown; usually mesoscutellum and metapectal-propodeal complex black, except testaceous distal apex of first abdominal tergum; occasionally mesoscutellum and metapectal-propodeal complex yellow-reddish; metasoma brown or black, with reddish nuances; legs yellow-reddish, occasionally with coxae and clubs of femora brownish. Head. ( Figs 13 View FIGURE 13 A–13C, 14). Antenna clavate, more than 3.5 times as long as head; antennomeres in following proportions: 7:5:10:7:6:6:5:5:4:6; head excavated, shiny, unsculptured, except occiput and anterior region of frons granulate; frontal line complete; occipital carina absent; POL = 1, OL = 1.5, OOL = 6, greatest breadth of lateral ocelli about as long as POL; palpal formula 4/2. Mesosoma ( Figs 2B View FIGURE 2 , 13 View FIGURE 13 D–13F, 14). Pronotum shiny, granulate, crossed by strong transverse furrow; mesoscutum shiny, sculptured by some longitudinal keels, with two strong lateral pointed apophyses; metanotum flat, slightly transversely striate; mesopleuron and metapleuron not transversely striate; metapectal-propodeal complex shiny or dull, strongly or slightly granulate, with first abdominal tergum transversely striate; disc metapectal-propodeal complex with track median longitudinal furrow; meso-metapleural suture obsolete; protarsomeres in following proportions: 13:2:4:13:21; enlarged claw with one small subapical tooth and four–seven peg-like setae or bristles; protarsomere 5 with inner margin proximally serrated, with two rows of one-three, in addition to 12–17 lamellae (shortest row not extending beyond 0.5 length of segment; distal apex with 9–14 lamellae and two longer lamellae; tibial spurs 1/0/1.
