Specimens examined. Specimens deposited in NSMT: holotype male, NSMT – Ap 7, Ashu , Kyoto Prefecture, 20- VIII-1956, R. Yosii leg. ; 1 female, 21-V-1982 (Imadaté’s Proturan Collection No. 7038b), 1 male, 31-VII-1985 (Imadaté’s Proturan Collection No. 7038l 1), 1 female, 18-VI-1988 (Imadaté’s Proturan Collection No. 7038m 4), Ashu , Kyoto Prefecture, N. Kaneko leg.
Other specimens recorded. This species is common throughout Japan, hence other collection data are omitted here.
Additions to description. On head, setae aa, pa and m4 present, sensilla as and ps present ( Fig. 10A); seta sp about 1.5 times longer than p. Seta rs inflated, shorter than sr ( Fig. 10B). On maxillary palpus ( Fig. 10C) sensillum md longer than ml. Galea small, digit O slightly longer than M and I ( Fig. 10D). Mandible with three teeth, two apical and one subapical ( Fig. 10E). On hind tarsus ( Fig. 10F) D2 and D4 spine-like, D4 slightly thicker than D2, but slender than D5. Laterostigmata II–IV distinct ( Fig. 10G); II– III with weak reticulation, but sometimes invisible; IV without inner structure. On abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 10H) P1a' with basal dilatation and anterior to P2; P2a linear.
Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Teuri, Sado, Awaji, Oki, Izu–Ohshima, Miyakejima and Mikurajima Islands) and China.
