Specimens examined. Specimens deposited in NSMT: 1 female from type locality, Asakawa, Tokyo, 28-IV-1971, G. Imadaté leg (Imadaté’s Proturan Collection No. 0176a 3-24); 1 female, NSMT–Ap 122, Nishishibetsu, Hokkaido, 4-IX-1969, K. Niijima leg. Three males, 2 females, Mt. Hanagame-yama, Daigo-machi, Ibaraki Prefecture, 36º52'57"N, 140º15'21"E, 670 m elevation, 21-VI-2003, litter of a forest dominated by Abies firma View in CoL , F. japonica View in CoL and Quercus mongolica View in CoL ver. grosseserrata, H. Hosoda & Y. Hagiwara leg.
Other specimens recorded. This species is common in northern Honshu and Hokkaido, hence other records are omitted .
Additions to description. On head, setae aa, pa and m4 present, sensilla as and ps present ( Fig. 11A); seta sp 1.6 times longer than p; sensilla pp distinct ( Fig. 11B), 2 µm long. Seta rs inflated, shorter than sr ( Fig. 11C). On maxillary palpus ( Fig. 11D) sensillum md longer than ml. On galea ( Fig. 11E) digits similar to each other. Mandible with three teeth ( Fig. 11F). On hind tarsus ( Fig. 11G) D2 and D4 spine-like, but more slender than D5. Tracheal camerae thin, contracted distally ( Fig. 11H). Central lobe of abdominal tergites V sinuate, those of VI and VII constricted in middle ( Fig. 11I). Laterostigmata II–IV distinct ( Fig. 11J), II with a weak line, III –IV without inner structure. On abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 11K) P1a' without basal dilatation and slightly anterior to P2; P2a linear.
Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Sado, Hachijojima and Okinawa Islands), China and Russia (Khabarovsk).
