Specimens examined. Specimens deposited in NSMT: 1 male, NSMT – Ap 1, Yoshino-yama , Nara Prefecture, 18- V-1953, K. Sawada leg ; 1 female, Shirahama , Wakayama Prefecture, VII-1974, H. Takeda leg. (Imadaté’s Proturan Collection No. 3150a 1) ; 1 male, Asakawa , Tokyo, 28-IV-1971, G. Imadaté leg (Imadaté’s Proturan Collection No. 0176a 3-36) .
Other specimens recorded. This species is very common throughout Japan, hence other records are omitted.
Additions to description. On head, setae aa, pa and m4 present, sensilla as and ps present ( Fig. 48 A); seta sp 1.4 times longer than p; sensilla pp rudimentary. Seta rs simple, shorter than sr ( Fig. 48B). On maxillary palpus ( Fig. 48C) sensillum md slightly longer than ml. On galea ( Fig. 48D) digit O slightly longer than M and I; M and I similar to each other. Mandible with two teeth ( Fig. 48E). On hind tarsus ( Fig. 48F) D2 and D4 spine-like, D4 thicker than D2, but more slender than D5. Central lobe trapezoidal, inner line contricted in middle ( Fig. 48G). Laterostigmata II–IV distinct ( Fig. 48H), II– III without inner structure, but IV with a weak central spot; those on V – VII small. Male squama genitalis with long basiperiphallar setae. On abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 48I) P1a' simple and slightly anterior to P2; P2a short linear,.

Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Teuri, Yagishiri, Tobishima, Sado, Awaji, Tsushima, Iki, Gotoh–Nakadohrijima, Amakusa–Kamishima and –Shimoshima, Satsuma–Takeshima and –Kuroshima, Yakushima, Amami–Ohshima, Tokunoshima, Okinawa, Miyagijima, Ikejima, Miyako, Ishigaki, Iriomote, Yonaguni, Izu–Ohshima, Niijima, Miyakejima, Mikurajima, Hachijojima Islands), Korea, China, Taiwan, Vanuatu (= New Hebrides), Bismarck and Solomon Islands.
