Material examined. 1 male (16.7 x 11.1 mm) ( DABFUK), Kavaratti, 10 October 2014 ; 1 male (10.0 x 7.1 mm) ( DABFUK), Kalpeni, 4 October 2014 ; 1 male (8.8 x 6.0 mm) ( DABFUK), Minicoy, 24 September 2014 .
Remarks. Paraxanthias notatus was recorded from Lakshadweep by Dev Roy & Nandi (2005) but is otherwise found throughout the Indo-West Pacific ( Serène 1984).
