Distribution. Western Atlantic— Venezuela, Brazil (Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina), Uruguay ( Coelho & Ramos-Porto 1987; Zolessi & Philippi 1995; Rieger 1998; Melo 1999; Coelho et al. 2007; Nucci & Melo 2007; Fransozo et al. 2011; Meireles et al. 2012).
