Distribution. Western Atlantic—Gulf of Mexico, Grenada, Guyana, Brazil (Alagoas, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay ( Melo-Filho & Melo 2001a, b; Melo-Filho 2006; Coelho et al. 2007; Spivak et al. 2019).

Remarks. Munida flinti is found between 11 and 315 m depth; a single specimen was collected at 630 m depth by the HMS “Challenger” (st. 122, ~ 09°S /35ʹW, Alagoas) ( Melo-Filho & Melo 2001b; Melo-Filho 2006). There are previous records in São Paulo obtained during deep water field trips by N.Oc. “Prof. W. Besnard” (st. 6651, 25°53ʹS / 045°42ʹW, 256 m, 3 spec., MZUSP 13205, 15.xii.1997; st. 6652, 25°51ʹS / 045°47ʹW, 206 m, 1 spec., MZUSP 13251, 15.xii.1997; st. 6660, 24°17ʹS / 043°48ʹW, 314 m, 4 spec., MZUSP 13211, 09.i.1998; st. 6666, 24°17ʹS / 044°12ʹW, 163 m, 4 spec., MZUSP 13211, 10.i.1998 —see Melo-Filho 2006 and Melo-Filho & Melo 2001a), R/V Soloncy Moura: st. 1123, 25°38ʹS / 045°45ʹW, 149 m, 4 spec., MZUSP 15357, 18.iv.2002 (see Melo-Filho 2008), and deposited (1 ♂, MZUSP 6514, 21°46ʹS – 28°43ʹS, N.Oc. “Prof. W. Besnard”, Ilha Vitória, 18.i.1984; 1 ♀ ov, MZUSP 13655, Santos, no coord., 13.iii.2001). The record in Uruguay is dubious ( Spivak et al. 2019).
