Distribution. Western Atlantic— USA (Florida), Brazil (Atol das Rocas, Fernando de Noronha, Amapá, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo) ( Melo-Filho & Melo 2001b; Coelho-Filho 2006; Melo-Filho 2006; Coelho et al. 2007).

Remarks. We found one specimen from São Paulo deposited in the MZUSP collection (1 ♂, MZUSP 28422, REVIZEE SUL, st. 6673, 24°17ʹS / 044°35ʹW, 133 m, 11.i.1998) that was used for molecular analysis. This species is found between 13 and 150 m depth ( Melo-Filho 2006). Sequence accession number (GenBank): MZUSP 28422— 16S ( MT320101 View Materials ).
