In Canada, this widespread, common eucnemid species was taken in Ontario and Québec. In the United States , D. badius was previously known in Alabama, Arizona, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin ( Muona 2000). New records reported here include Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas and Vermont. Specimens were taken from Lindgren funnel traps. Inoue ( CMNH), Windham County: 4.5 km SSW Brattleboro , 21 July–2 August 2016, E. Inoue ( CMNH) .
