Leptosia sefidi Brandt, 1938 , Entomologische Rundschau 55: 558, fig. 140–142 (Type-locality: Iran, Fort Mian-Kotal [Syntypes: NHRM, Stockholm]).

Material examined. 1 male, unknown locality, prep. 0 0 53 Matov [ ZISP] (this specimen has the abdomen from a species of Eublemma glued on; for this reason the genitalia of the species were not examined and not illustrated).

Diagnosis. M. sefidi differs from related species ( M. velox , M. velocior , M. griseimargo , M. djakonovi ) by having wide hindwing black lines, and by the absence of a brown or rufous waved band between the postmedial and submarginal lines.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 16 ). Wingspan: 23 mm. Head, thorax and abdomen rufous-ochreous. Wings rufous-ochreous, with waved rufous-grey band in terminal field along outer margin. Basal and medial lines on forewing rufous-brown; medial and postmedial lines on hindwing black; submarginal line on forewing and hindwing pale-grey with four large black dots before apex of forewing. Reniform and orbicular stigmata rufous-brown. Male and female genitalia not examined.

Distribution. Middle East: east Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Oman.
