Type host: Turdus fumigatus obsoletus Lawrence = Turdus obsoletus Lawrence.

Type locality: Costa Rica .

Type material: Holotype male [slide 67962] deposited in the USNM, from the Carriker collection [slide 3321]. One slide deposited in the NHML [slide NHML010661045 View Materials ] is labelled “ paratypes ”, but this word has been crossed out, and replaced with “Topotypes”. Although the host and collecting data on this slide agree with the data given by Ansari (1956f: 174), the three specimens in this slide are not part of the type series.
