Current status: Myrsidea chilchil Ansari, 1951 ; Tandan & Clay 1971: 219.

Type host: Acridotheres tristis tristis (Linnaeus) . In error ( Tandan & Clay 1971: 218).

Type locality: Faisalabad [as Lyallpur, Punjab], Pakistan .

Type material: Holotype female (labelled as “ TYPE ”) deposited in the NHML [slide NHML010661418 View Materials ]. This slide contains three specimens, the middle one (a female) marked with a black arrow is the holotype, and the other two are paratypes, a male and a female. On the reverse of the type slide a label reads: “= Myrsidea chilchil Ansari, 1951 . See Tandan”.

Another specimen labelled as “ PARATYPE ” and deposited in the NHML [slide NHML010661417 View Materials ] is incorrectly labelled as “ Myrsidea lyallpusensis [sic] Ansari”. Since the original type series comprises only the three specimens mounted together on slide NHML010661418 View Materials , the paratype status and/or the species identification of this slide is incorrect .
