Type host: Dicrurus hottentottus hottentottus (Linnaeus) .

Type locality: Rangamati , Bangladesh [as East Pakistan] .

Type material: None of the specimens of Myrsidea sindianus deposited in the NHML is marked as type. The single holotype male designated by Ansari (1956d: 59) is presumed lost .
