Current status: Sturnidoecus opeca Ansari, 1968 .

Type host: Speculipaster [sic] bicolor = Speculipastor bicolor Reichenow.

Type locality: Kenya .

Type material: Syntype male deposited in the NHML [slide NHML 010694508] from the Meinertzhagen collection. This specimen was erroneously listed as the holotype by Gustafsson & Bush (2017: 440). The location of other seven syntypes recorded by Ansari (1968: 33) is unknown.
