Current status: Sturnidoecus zahrae Ansari, 1968 ; Gustafsson & Bush 2017: 240, 368, 393, 442.

Type host: Onychognathus moria [sic] shelleyi (Hartert) = Onychognathus morio (Linnaeus) .

Type locality: Kenya .

Type material: Five syntypes (two males and three females) deposited in the NHML [slide NHML 010694554] from the Meinertzhagen collection. As mentioned by Gustafsson & Bush (2017: 442), the syntype slide of Sturnidoecus zahrae also contains a female specimen of Philopterus .
