TYPE LOCALITY: Kenya, Tana River .

DISTRIBUTION: Sierra Leone and Mali to Ethiopia and Somalia, south to Zambia and Zimbabwe; perhaps Angola.

COMMENT: Includes brockmani and personatus (formerly included in murinus by Misonne, 1974, Part 6:36); see Genest-Villard, 1978, Mammalia, 42:399.
