Kamaka Dershavin, 1923: 188 [type species: K. kuthae Dershavin, 1923 by monotypy].

Diagnosis. Urosomites 1 and 2 coalesced. Ocular lobes strongly produced forward, tip blunt. Antenna 1 without accessory flagellum; antenna 2 longer than antenna 1. Mandibular palp slender; palp of maxilla 1 2- articulate; maxilliped with outer plate elongate, exceeding apex of palp article 2, palp with 4 articles, article 2 long, article 4 with a nail. Coxae relatively long, weakly overlapping; coxa 1 dilated, produced forward; coxae 5 and 6 lobed; coxa 7 smaller than anterior coxae. Gnathopod 1 of both sexes small, poorly subchelate, carpus longer than propodus; male gnathopod 2 enlarged, propodochelate, carpus short, unlobed, propodus dilated, with false chela or large process on posterior margin, dactylus long; female gnathopod 2 small, slightly larger than gnathopod 1, subchelate. Pereopods 3 and 4 similar, each with slender basis; pereopods 5–7 similar to each other, progressively elongate from 5 to 7, each with expanded basis. Oostegites of female present on pereopods 2–5. Pleonal epimeron 3 not bisinuate. Uropods 1 and 2 biramous, stout, peduncle of uropod 1 with ventrodistal process; uropod 3 small, uniramous, peduncle short, as long as ramus. Telson entire, short.
