The type locality is Brazil, Petrópolis.

Material

12 females, BRAZIL, Rio de Janeiro, January 1922 (T. Borgmeier ­ I, Museum Koenig, Bonn and CUMZ ­ 27­99). 1 female, COLOMBIA, Valle del Cauca, Bosque Yataco, 1575 m, 23 January 1989, W. P. Mackay ( CUMZ ­ 18­67).

Natural history

Females of this species have been recorded in colonies of the termites Kalotermes sp. and Nasutitermes spp, including N. ephratae (Holmgren) ( Disney, 1994) .
