Hind femur with several long ventral bristles in apical half; tip not acute, somewhat rounded. Hind tibia at base with a V-shaped comb of ventral bristles; no patch of ventral hairs. Surstyli digitiform; cerci long, sickle-shaped.

Female

Body length 1.25–1.5 mm; wing length 1.35 mm.

Like the female of T. hirsutus sp. nov., but tergum 3 on both sides with very long hairs (as long as or longer than half length of tergum); terga 5 and 6 short-haired, but the hairs are longer than usual in this genus.

Remarks

The female is described here for the first time.

A common species in Papua New Guinea; preference for freshwater swamps. Never found in the true mangrove.
