To 9 cm (3.5 in) TL (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).Anacapa (Christopher Grossman, pers. comm. to M.L.) and San Clemente Islands, southern California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) and Isla Guadalupe, central Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Gulf of California to central Mexico ( Robertson and Allen 2015) and islands of eastern Pacific ( Eschmeyer and Herald 1983). Depth: 1–50 m (3–165 ft) (min.: Kuiter and Kozawa 2019; max.: Sandknop and Watson in Moser 1996).
