Cortez Flounder or Cortez Halibut. To 58.3 cm (23 in) TL ( Arellano-Martinez et al. 1997). Lagunas Ojo de Liebre-Guerrero Negro, central Baja California ( Arellano-Martinez et al. 1997) to Gulf of California (Hensley in Fischer et al. 1995), and slightly below Gulf of California on mainland side ( Robertson and Allen 2015). Galván-Magaña et al. (2000) report on captures from Bahía de La Paz but do not give attributions. Marine and brackish waters (Hensley in Fischer et al. 1995); benthic; depth: intertidal to 55 m (180 ft) (min Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California).
