Female: (n=3) Body worm-like, 174 long; prodorsal shield 29 long, 29 wide, anterior lobe present; prodorsal shield with several short lines at posterior margin, design with median and admedian lines complete, subparallel, with transverse lines at basal 1/6 and half, submedian lines converging to anterior, subparallel with admedian lines; scapular tubercles set at prodorsal shield rear margin, setae (sc) 20 long, directed backward, sct-sct 21 apart; leg segments normal, foretibial seta (1') set at basal one-third, 9 long; 1st coxal setae (1b) 7 long, 1bt-1bt 10 apart, 2nd coxal setae (1a) 18 long, 1at-1at 9 apart, 3rd coxal setae (2a) 29 long, 2at-2at 23 apart; solenidion ending as knob; empodium simple, 6-rayed.

Opisthosoma: with about 78 microtuberculate rings; first 3 rings 4 long; lateral setae (c2) 19 long, c2t-c 2t 40 apart, c 2t \dt 44, c2t-dt 20; 1st ventral setae (d) 62 long, dt-dt 41 apart, dt\et 39, dt-et 26; 2nd ventral setae (e) 19 long, et-et 18 apart, et\ft 49, et-ft 46; 3rd ventral setae (f) 27 long, ft-ft 18 apart; setae h1 present.

Coverflap: 19 wide, 13 long, with about 17 longitudinal lines, genital setae (3a) 12 long, 3at-3at 17 apart.

Male: not seen.

Type data: Holotype, female, Jensi, Nantou; 3-Nov.-2000, H. F. Yen; ex. Rhus chinensis Mill var. roxburghii (DC) Rehd. ( Anacardiaceae ). Paratypes, 2 females, with same data as holotype.

Relation to host: Mites form pouch galls on the upper leaf surface.

Note: This new species resembles A. zhejiangensis Zhao & Kuang, 1996 but differs in the median and admedian lines with two transverse lines and in the 6-rayed empodium.

Etymology: The specific designation is derived from the specific name of the type host plant.
