( Figs 7, 8 View FIGURES 1 – 8 , 15, 16 View FIGURES 9 – 16 , 32–36 View FIGURES 32 – 36 , Table 1 View TABLE 1 )

Diagnosis. Recognized by shining, dorsum with anterior half brown and posterior half dark brown or red; male endosoma elongate C-shaped with apex, attenuated or beak-like.

Description. Male. Ovoid, elongate, with lateral corial margins concave; total length 2.36–2.45, width pronotum 1.15–1.17. COLORATION (fig.7): Head, pronotum, anterior half of hemelytra, clavus and scutellum pale brown; embolium red; corium posteriorly reddish brown; antennal segment I pale brown with red markings; legs completely red; ventrally body completely red. SURFACE AND VESTITURE: Shining with sparse golden yellow, lanceolate sericeous scale-like setae, along with short recumbent reclinate black setae; thoracic pleura and abdomen ventrally with silvery white lanceolate scale-like setae. STRUCTURE: Head: Posterior margin concave, eyes not protuberant, antennae separated from eyes and arising at the level of ventral margin of eyes laterally, eyes occupying slightly more than half head height laterally. Pronotum: lateral margins straight and short with a erect spine-like setae anteriorly, humeral angles smoothly rounded, posterior margin straight; mesoscutum exposed and separated from scutellum by a transverse suture; scutellum flat. Hemelytra: Lateral margins weakly concave, covering the abdomen. Legs: femur short and swollen moderately. GENITALIA ( Figs 32–36 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ): Pygophore: Transverse, tapering distally and rounded at apex. Endosoma: Elongate, tubular, weakly sclerotized, C-shaped, apex attenuated; secondary gonopore with semicircular opening, subtended by short erect glassy spicules. Phallotheca: Elongate, apical region on ventral margin with a projection at apex, dorsal margin broad and curved. Left paramere: Weakly splayed out, anterior processes thumb-like curved, posterior processes basally broad, moderately elongate with apex weakly curved. Right paramere: Broad, flattened and tapering towards apex.

Female. Head and anterior half of hemelytra, clavus and scutellum brown, posterior half of hemlytra including cuneus reddish brown; total length 2.59–2.68, width pronotum 1.19–1.21.

Distribution. Know from a single locality Karnataka, Karahalli near to Nandi Hills.

Host. Breeds on Viscum orientale ( Figs 15, 16 View FIGURES 9 – 16 )

Etymology. The species name is derived of, and is the host plant name.

Discussion. Male genital characters of H. orientale appear close to H. amyemi S chuh & Menard, H. amyemicola S chuh & Menard, H. neoamyemi S chuh & Menard and H. schuhi Symonds , but differs from all the four species by absence of medial spine on endosoma, apex of endosoma long and attenuated and left paramere without any processes on dorsal anterior margin. Externally H. orientale can be distinguished by pale brown coloration on anterior half and posterior half dark brown to reddish brown, whereas H. amyemi is pale white, H. amyemicola is reddish brown overall, H. neoamyemi is blood red and H. schuhi is pale pinkish orange.
